Front wheel drive rims fit rear wheel drive cars?

ok what is the different Between fwd and rwd rims i what to know because i find fwd wheels for cheap and rwd wheels are hard to find for my 88 mustang lx 4 lug can some one tell me if fwd wheels will work on my mustang and what type's i think escort wheels will work they have the same bolt pattern 4x108 i was told that there is no difference
