People that live in Canada, please answer?

Alright so for the past three days I took a trio to Toronto and my mom and I staying at Marriott three nights. I'm 17 and female, from Michigan. We received HORRIBLE treatment. Every waiter, cab driver, and people that work at the hotel were extremly rude to us. We're nice people and didn't do anything to them. We look presentable. For example we ate at this restaurant that was pretty nice and just because we asked to sit inside the waitress was extemly hostile and rude. We're pretty sure she spit in our water and we complained to the manager and only got a 25% discount. Are Canadian mad at Americans right now? What's the deal, because I've been to Toronto at least 20 times and they've always been very nice.
